Minecraft Movie Finally Finds Replacement Director for Rob McElhenney

Minecraft Movie Finally Finds Replacement Director for Rob McElhenney
The Minecraft movie has new life as Peter Sollett has signed on to direct the video game adaptation for Warner Bros. This particular project has been gestating for some time, as the studio first gained the rights to the wildly popular video game in 2014. Since then, it's proved to be a tricky egg to crack, but now they have a new creative mind on the case that may be able to finally get this movie moving in the right direction.

According to a new report, Peter Sollett, who, on the movie front, most recently directed 2015's Freeheld, had been brought on to both write and direct Minecraft. The writing is particularly important, as it sounds as though he may be starting from scratch. At the very least, Sollett is going to be doing a fairly significant rewrite, which means we're not likely to see the movie start filming any time terribly soon.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 13 Viewer Votes

Can the gang get any crazier on season 13 of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia TV show on Fxx? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether the TV show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is cancelled or renewed for season 14. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren't considered, we'd like to offer you the chance to rate all of the season 13 episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia below.

Airing on the cable channel, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia revolves around five underachievers who run Paddy's Pub in South Philadelphia — Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito). In season 13, the gang is back

Just as the 13th season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia debuts, its longtime star Charlie Day has signed on to make his directorial debut with the indie comedy El Tonto, Collider has learned. Day wrote the script and will star as, per the official press release, "an idiot mute who, after getting off a bus in Los Angeles, rises through the ranks to become a beloved Hollywood celebrity, only to lose it all." Arizona Trailer Turns Danny McBride Into a Bloodthirsty Maniac

Arizona Trailer Turns Danny McBride Into a Bloodthirsty Maniac
The first trailer for Arizona has arrived. Danny McBride is primarily known for his comedy exploits in movies like Pineapple Express and on the small screen in shows like Eastbound and Down. However, he's been dipping his toes in the horror genre a bit more in recent years, having starred in Alien: Covenant last year, in addition to co-writing the upcoming Halloween movie. Now, the trailer for Arizona showcases a pretty shocking blend of his unique talents.

Things get dark pretty quickly in the footage. Danny McBride provides some angry voiceover, relating to his frustrations that stemmed from the housing crisis in 2009. He has kidnapped his real estate agent and, as we soon come to realize, his character isn't exactly the most intelligent guy. He's clearly not used to dealing with crimes such as these. Even though much of this is intended to be humorous, it's all very messed up.

Minecraft Movie Delayed as Director Rob McElhenney Drops Out

Warner Bros. feature film adaptation of Minecraft is going through some issues and they are currently in the process of rebuilding the creative team for the film.

It turns out that director and co-writer Rob McElhenney (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) has dropped out of the project, which seems like a shame. I love what he's done with It's Always Sunny and I think he could have brought some fun comedy greatness to Minecraft. When The Wrap asked McElhenney about the project he said, "No, that is not happening."

The movie has been delayed and is no longer on track to hit its May 2019 release date. But, the studio has hired writing/directing duo of Aaron and Adam Nee to write a new script based on the popular game. Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) wrote the previous draft of the screenplay with McElhenney.

Aaron and Adam Nee wrote and directed the 2015 indie Band of Robbers,

‘It’s Always Sunny’ Season 13 Synopsis Reveals Dennis’ Fate

‘It’s Always Sunny’ Season 13 Synopsis Reveals Dennis’ Fate
A question that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans have had for a long time is finally being answered: Will Glenn Howerton return as Dennis Reynolds for Season 13?

The query came up last fall when Howerton's NBC comedy A.P. Bio was picked up, seeming to signal his leaving the FXX show he helped develop. Since then, both Howerton and the core Sunny cast have been cagey but ultimately hopeful about his return, in some capacity, to Sunny.

Though Howerton confirmed during the A.P. Bio panel at last winter's TCA press tour that his NBC …

Teen Takes Danny DeVito Cardboard Cutout to Prom – So He Takes Cardboard Cutout of Her to ‘Always Sunny’ Set
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And, really, who do you want to flatter more than a 17-year-old who took a cardboard cutout of you to their prom?

On Monday, Danny DeVito revealed via “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” co-star Rob McElhenney’s Instagram account that he had not only seen the story about Allison Closs, the teen who went viral for bringing a life-size cardboard cutout of him — complete with tie — to her special night, but the actor decided to one-up her.

“Hey Allison- I heard you took cardboard Danny to Prom. What a coincidence. He took cardboard Allison to Paddy’s…” wrote McElhenney, alongside shots of Closs’ original stunt and his co-star posing with a cutout of the high school student in her formalwear on the “It’s Always Sunny” bar set.

Game recognizes game.

Hidden Gems: 'Moone Boy,' an Irish Coming-of-Age Charmer

Hidden Gems: 'Moone Boy,' an Irish Coming-of-Age Charmer
In 2013 the comedy landscape on TV was as robust as ever, with 30 Rock, Veep, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Girls, Bob's Burgers, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Key & Peele, Portlandia, Archer, etc. So many great choices.

It was the summer of that year and a little thing known as Netflix was barely starting to flex its muscles on original content — and a little older entity, but still a new player to originals, Hulu, was up and running. Outside of network shows (don't call them reruns), not many people knew what was ...

‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ Star Rob McElhenney To Bring Horror-Comedy To Rooster Teeth

Digital studio Rooster Teeth has announced a content deal with one of its most notable partners yet. The Austin-based media company will team up with Rob McIlhenney, best known as the co-creator and co-star of the FX sitcom It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, for a horror-comedy titled Spikeface.

Spikeface will tell the story of a "horror icon" who agitates his equally devilish roommates after choosing to adopt the orphaned child of a couple he kills. That sounds like the sort of dark premise that will appeal to fans of It's Always Sunny, which has displayed its own black comedy sensibilities across a dozen seasons. McElhenney is serving as executive producer of Spikeface through Rcg, the studio he founded alongside It's Always Sunny co-stars Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton.

Fox 2018-2019 Programming Slate Revealed

On Monday, Fox unveiled the network's primetime slate for the 2018-2019 television season during its annual Programming Presentation at the Beacon Theatre.

"This year, we launched four of the Top 10 new shows on broadcast, which led to a very strong roster of young series returning for their sophomore seasons. That gives us tremendous momentum heading into the fall," said Newman and Walden. "With our increased investment in football, we're going to use the powerful platform of the NFL to launch our new comedies. We'll then take some big swings with dramas at midseason, which is a proven strategy for Fox."

The new comedies joining the lineup this fall are Rel and The Cool Kids. Inspired by the life of Lil Rel Howery, Rel is a multi-camera comedy starring Howery as a loving husband and father living in Chicago, who finds out his wife is having an affair, and must rebuild
