Buddy Rogers amid a garden of chorines.
7 July 2002 | by rsoonsaSee all my reviews

This two-reel short features the multi-talented Buddy Rogers, accompanied by a singing and dancing throng of about forty modishly upholstered lovelies in the single title number, designed as a panegyric to FDRs newly birthed National Recovery Administration (NRA), represented here by several Busby Berkeleyish formations. Trombone- and drum-playing Rogers gives a great deal of kinetic appeal to the piece, which also features active involvement among the floor show "audience" composed of purported representatives from several states of the Union, while a fleeting one-line appearance by a dark-haired Shirley Temple fails to cast a spell expected of a successful screen test, in this instance for Paramount's LITTLE MISS MARKER; the NRA carries the day.
