Sandra Oh Isn't the Only Asian Actor to Have Won a Golden Globe - Here Are Past Winners!
My Asian-American, Grey's Anatomy-obsessed heart is having a moment right now, because Sandra Oh just won a Golden Globe for lead actress in a TV series in the drama category for her role as Eve Polastri on BBC America's Killing Eve! It's not Oh's first time in the award season rodeo - she's also won a Golden Globe in 2006 and earned five Emmy nominations for her role as Cristina Yang on Grey's Anatomy.

Oh isn't the first and only Asian to ever win a Golden Globe, though. In fact, she's not the only Asian who's ever won for a lead actress on a TV series in the drama category - the first was Yoko Shimada, an actress of Japanese descent who won the category in 1981 for her work on the show Shōgun. Other past wins for Asians include British-Indian Ben Kingsley for best lead actor in a drama

Sandra Oh is the 2nd Asian Best TV Drama Actress Golden Globe winner

Sandra Oh is the 2nd Asian Best TV Drama Actress Golden Globe winner
Sandra Oh took home her second Golden Globe on Sunday night and is now the second woman of Asian descent to win the Best TV Drama Actress.

The “Killing Eve” star and Globes co-host joins Yoko Shimada as the only Asian women to win the category. Shimada prevailed in 1981 for her performance in the miniseries “Shōgun,” for which she was Emmy-nominated on the limited series/TV movie side. (The Globes didn’t add acting categories for miniseries and TV films until 1982.) Shimada was the first Asian performer, male or female, to win in any acting category at the Globes.

Film Review: Teen Patti (2010) by Leena Yadav

Starring legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Ben Kingsley, and directed by Leena Yadav (whose movies have premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival), Teen Patti is about a mathematics experiment that ends in chaos, death and repentance.

The movie is about an Indian mathematician, Venkat Subramaniam (Amitabh Bachchan), who is invited to the University of Cambridge by Perci Trachtenberg (Ben Kingsley), whereupon he recounts his life as a Mathematics Professor in an unnamed Indian college, his theory of probability and his success playing card games. Venkat tests his equation to crack Teen Patti (an Indian card game derived from poker) at the addas (underground gaming dens) of wild Bombay, with the help of a few students and a colleague. But what started out as a naive experiment becomes a game of blackmail and greed that is both uncontrollable and inescapable.

The movie’s inspiration comes from the same place

Darren Criss aiming to be youngest SAG Award winner for limited series/TV movie actor

Darren Criss aiming to be youngest SAG Award winner for limited series/TV movie actor
Darren Criss became the second youngest person to win the Best Limited Series/TV Movie Actor Emmy for “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” in September. He could be the third youngest to win the Golden Globe equivalent next month. And if he wins the corresponding Screen Actors Guild Award, he’d set a new benchmark as the category’s youngest winner ever.

Criss, who will be nine days shy of his 32nd birthday at the Jan. 27 ceremony, wouldn’t just break the record; he’d smash it. No one has won that category while in their 30s. The youngest champ is Gary Sinise, who was 40 when he prevailed for “Truman” at the second SAG Awards in 1996; he won a second one two years later for “George Wallace,” so he occupies two of the top four youngest spots. Reigning champ Alexander Skarsgard (“Big Little Lies”), at 41 years and 149 days,

Golden Globes flashback: Sandra Oh felt like ‘someone set me on fire’ after win for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ [Watch]
Sandra Oh is co-hosting the Golden Globe Awards next month with Andy Samberg, but that won’t be the first time she’ll be up on the Globes stage. A Best TV Drama Actress nominee for “Killing Eve,” Oh won Best TV Supporting Actress in 2006 for her performances as Cristina Yang on “Grey’s Anatomy” — and she could hardly believe it.

“I feel like someone set me on fire!” Oh opened her speech (watch above) after collecting her Globe from presenters Teri Hatcher and then-future Superman Brandon Routh.

Oh defeated Candice Bergen (“Boston Legal”), Camryn Manheim (“Elvis”), Elizabeth Perkins (“Weeds”) and Joanne Woodward (“Empire Falls”) in the catch-all supporting category. At the time, “Grey’s” was in the middle of its peak second season and was weeks away from its post-Super Bowl episode — aka the bomb episode — which remains its most-watched and highest-rated hour.

A giddy Oh thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press Association,

Trailer For BBC's Animated Adaptation of The Brutal Children's Story Watership Down

Watership Down is considered to be one of the most traumatizing children’s stories for a lot of people. I remember being completely shocked when I first saw the original 1978 animated adaptation. It’s a fantastic story, but it really is quite brutal.

BBC and Netflix teamed up for a new animated adaptation of the story and today the first trailer for the four-part series has been released. The film tells the story of survival, pain, and hope as a group of rabbits faces numerous trials while searching for a new home.

Judging by the trailer, it doesn’t look like there will be as much blood as the original film, but it still looks like it will be brutal.

The series boasts an impressive cast that includes James McAvoy as Hazel, Nicolas Hoult as his little brother Fiver, Olivia Colman as Strawberry, and Gemma Arterton as Clover. In addition there’s John Boyega,
